Republicans work
Like tissue in a sandstorm
Grand old party my ass
The most radical thing you will ever see a dem do is, having the flag hoisted on 3/4 to indicate grievance, but not the full half because that would be an aggressive act of disobedience
We write our haikus
To angrily censure you
Tell me, did that work?
Censuring lmao
It’s wild to me. The crazier the republicans get, the more it’s the dems fault. Are the dems perfect? No, not by a long shot. But why waste your time focusing on them? Let’s figure out a way to separate the base from trump. We have to get through before it’s too late.
It’s not that we don’t recognize the fault of Republicans, but yelling at them is less effective than mobilizing resources that are supposed to be more accessible to Democrats.
There are tons of campaigning dollars, expertise, and connections locked away behind intransigent Dems.
I think you’re being sincere, but saying the same boring shit over and over about the dems isn’t doing shit either. Mobilizing them would look a bit different than that.
So what would mobilizing them look like? They know what we want them to do, is it a lack of motivation? A lack of incentive? If the threat of losing their core voters isn’t enough to get them to act, what is?
Don’t know. I just know that going after the dems the way it seems to be happening, isn’t working.
Right now, it goes like this:
- Republicans and/or Trump do something fucking crazy that’s not only never been done before, but probably illegal.
- Everyone shouts frantically, “WhY areN’T tHe DeMS doINg ANyThiNG!” while saying in a rational, quiet, tone, “That’s just how Republicans are.”
- Repeat
I mean, it’s a valid question. Why are the Democrats censuring their own? Why aren’t the Democrats supporting the popular candidates who can mobilize voters but are more progressive than they would like?
So you’re telling me, “That’s just how Republicans are.”
No, I’m saying we need to clean house before looking across the aisle. If we can’t even convince our own side that this is urgent and not a game, how on earth are we going to convince the people actively tearing the country apart?
Also, if you think a well reasoned article and an open ear are enough to get the republicans to change, you’re sorely mistaken.
Can we try a machete?
That’s because they could have done something about it instead of playing stupid fucking games and playing nice with Republicans when they were actually in power and all of this could have been avoided, but here we are and they are still trying to play nice with the actual fucking Nazis instead of being leaders and standing up for their constituents. Hell or even standing up for their own fucking peers, Jesus fucking Christ is it so damn hard for them to have some fucking guts to stand up for what’s right rather than trying to put up a facade of civility with the fucking Nazis party? FUCK
reply copied from ‘the dems fight for us’.
I’m not old enough to really have much memory of the clinton. but after he did so much for racial equality and ending the drug war, I can’t begrudge the man a blowjob.
I DO remember during the brooks brothers riots, where they kicked the shit out of those fascists. I remember the guy with the full back tattoo of nixon’s face, being stepped on a bunch. I remember it was kinda controversial when president gore pardoned the people who did it, but it was obvious self defense; the cameras caught it all. I’m glad they fought that shit in the supreme court, and put those bastards in their place. they could’ve done some real damage to society if left unchecked, before we got rid of the reagan appointees.
fuck the gore administration was good. you remember those guys who tried to blow up those decrepit shit hole buildings in new york all those times? and the boondoggle of demolishing them that lead to that weird gay-coded-but-not-gay musical theater real estate failson from the home alone movies being elected governor of new york in 2018? that was so weird. glad he got what he deserved. kind of annoyed people didn’t make a bigger deal about all the rape he did.
I remember what president gore did for climate change, the scandal after energy was too cheap to meter for a couple years, and then we had to start metering it again because of that cryptocurrency nonsense, even though it was still cheaper than it had ever been at any point in the 20th.
I remember how the democrats in congress kept us out of that dumb fucking war the fascists tried to get us into in 2001 with their bullshit lies. I bet it would’ve killed or crippled like half the guys I went to high school with, and the first girl I ever kissed-maybe not directly, but she was the kind of uncritical heroic idiot who’d have rushed into some shit over her head, come back with horrible PTSD, and eventually killed her dumb ass over it-we still talk sometimes. I know without the democratic party, I probably wouldn’t have my dumbest friend. I remember when the dems in congress swept in and put a stop to all that subprime mortgage nonsense in 2006, stopped anyone from losing their homes, and locked up all the coke addled wall street goons who tried to con us all.
Al gore was a pretty great president, and with so many good people in the deliberative branch, how could we NOT have stopped global warming in its tracks? lol, tracks, like all the trains. I can go basically anywhere in the country on maglev. giving the japanese a run for their money, at least in the midwest. kinda disappointed the HSR in california uses traditional overhead wire on steel rails, but I can go from san diego to san francisco and hang out in the bay then come back home for dinner. I remember when it used to take that long to drive there-and that was really the only way-from sacramento, one way. I grew up walking and biking everywhere, imagine how many scars and broken bones I’d have if I had tried doing that shit for my entire adult life in a nation that still worshipped cars? I bet I’d look like fucking frankenstein’s monster by now.
I remember when they went after white supremacist terror groups being funded by our tax dollars during the gore administration, like the lynwood vikings, the moment they found out. WHOO! LOCAL WIN! that was pretty cool of obama to do. I remember the press release. I actually lived nearby at the time. seeing FBI snipers take out local cops, then pull off their LAPD uniforms to expose all the nazi tattoos and hang them on la brea avenue? that was fucking wild, man. there was a whole arc in the punisher comic books where he had like a crisis of conscience and became an FBI agent and it was weird, and he felt like an asshole when he had to quit but kept respecting them; it felt like it could have been realistic, I honestly felt something similar at the time, but it was so fucking badly written. fucking marvel comics, man. they could have made such good movies; you can tell by how popular the DC comics cinematic universe got under whedon (creepy bastard).
I remember when they were gonna ratfuck the wildly popular candidate for an arrogant hack who wouldn’t even have remembered to register everywhere she could have, but then decided not to, and won the 2016 election in a historic landslide, breaking the whole ‘red state/blue state’ paradigm. that was one of the best administrations we ever had, like a perfect whatever the reverse of a black mirror is of the reagan administration. the other guy was all “make america great again!” but president sanders actually did it. plus, cuban rum and the lung cancer vaccine. yesplz.
I remember after the “UNITE THE RIGHT” rally where the nazi in the car killed that lady? the one with all the tiki torches and polo shirts? where the ATF had been waiting on like a perimeter, and took a lot of flak for not charging in and killing those bastards sooner. I hear some of the surviving nazis ended up in gitmo. it wasn’t perfect, but it was ordered directly by a democratic cabinet officer. I hear president sanders was in the loop, he took some heat for letting that lady die, but honestly it could have gone so much worse.
I remember on january 7th, 2021, after the insurrection, when the white house lawn was covered in gallows of the nazi insurrectionists. the ones that didn’t get mowed down by machine guns day-of. the dems did right that day.
I remember when the weird guy from home alone 2? that guy kept insisting he was president and lead that shit, after they impeached him from the governership and kicked him out of office, they locked him in the darkest cage they had. I hear it was somewhere in syria. got blown up during the trouble there. some of his followers insist he’s still alive, but LOL, no fucking way. that guy wouldn’t live ten seconds in a war zone.
I remember when the FBI switched up their priorities and decided to go after domestic white supremacist terror groups, including foreign owned misinformation operations, like not-twitter and fox news, like they were black communists who’d just blown up a pipeline and sabotaged a logging operation. the killings were… I mean, it was kind of intense, and there was a lot of collateral damage, but they were nazis, you know? they would have done more damage if left alive, I bet. I didn’t even know how to feel while it was happening, I used to be an anarchist, and here was the fucking FBI, funded to hunt people like me like we were dogs, and they were killing nazis. real anti-hero hours, and if you’d told fifteen year old me I’d be cheering on the feds, I’d have laughed you out of the room, but they did good. I haven’t even seen a swastika in years, except when I replayed wolfenstein recently-kind of an irrelevant goofy nonsense game, but I played the old one when I was a kid. im glad we beat those bastards IRL back in the 40s.
god, getting gay marriage and trans rights in the constitution in 2010? fixing that loophole in the 13th amendment and ending private prisons? election reform? single payer healthcare? it’s pretty great. I like it here. I used to think I wouldn’t make it to 25 after my parents kicked me out. I used to think most of my friends were more doomed than I was. I was kind of a depressed edgelord I guess. but here we all are. all those old AIDS crisis survivors in the queer community sound silly, but the past is a foreign country, so let’s not judge our elders too harshly.
I guess I also remember the bad old days, when people would die unhoused outside empty houses. I remember the bad old days when so many people couldn’t get healthcare, and stores locked up dumpsters full of perfectly edible food. I remember the bad old days when people were afraid of the state. when people were afraid of the people paid by their tax dollars. when our tax dollars funded corrupt religious institutions, and taught their bullshit in public schools. I’m glad we’re past all that. I’m glad nobody thinks absurdist edgelord authors like bacigalupi are remotely serious anymore. it’s kind of ridiculous we ever thought otherwise, with leadership like this. when they defunded the local police after those killings, I became one of the emergency response social workers; it’s damn fulfilling work. Would you believe I used to be an anarchist? like, I’m still kind of a curmudgeon sometimes about bureaucracy and stuff, but with a robust safety net and amazing education and a world that pretty much works, with such a bright outlook for the future, I really don’t have much to complain about, and the complaints I do have all feel kind of petty. I used to think states couldn’t work, and america was an existential evil. I guess it’s still problematic sometimes, the international policies aren’t all great, but… I dunno; I feel like it’s a net good; just look at how we saved all those people by giving the world free vaccines during the pandemics. I guess I was proven wrong. I don’t know what to call myself now. just “democrat” i guess.
Things could go downhill, since they fucked it that last election. sanders was a tough fucking act to follow, especially that second term. I’m not worried though. they’re still fighting it in the courts, and they’re so loud in congress, the fascists can’t even finish a sentence. AOC proposed that bill to legalize dueling after bobo threatened to shoot her, and every republican voted against it; that was a really good one. filibustering everything, challenging everything. it’s honestly kind of funny to watch. fascists do not know how to adapt to that. I say fascists; they won’t admit it, but we all kinda know, right? DW; dems got out backs, no matter what, even if it loses them some rich donors. i dropped like fifty tubmans on a donation to my congressman last week; you should too.
so yeah, we should stand up for the democratic party. The same way they stood up for us so many times. we owe them that.
I could stand to see more of this copypasta
take it! lemme know where you use it; i want to see how it’s recieved. want me to write more?
Go forth and let thy fruit be plentiful
I’ll keep that in mind, write new stuff when I can.
No Dem has lifted a finger to help me in my lifetime.
not even during sanders’ second presidential term? you’ve never used our single payer healthcare system? maybe you’re disregarding the impact ending global warming had. that could have gone pretty poorly; i bet wherever you were, it would have suffered a lot of natural disasters prevented by president gore’s sharp interventions and move to a completely green (and slightly nuclear, god that was tough to push through) energy economy? or the obama admin’s opening of borders to refugees, and all the cool like syrian food you’ve probably had?
are you queer or trans? when the dem congress moved our rights to some flimsy revocable shit to constitutional rights in 2011, along with bodily autonomy that solidified AFAB people as fully human fully equal participants of society, that didn’t help you at all? I bet it did.
or are you from the evil mirror universe, where these people are just dog shit lying manipulating shit bags who have never helped anyone ever?
Must be the mirror universe because these dog shit lying manipulative shit bags have never helped anyone ever.
…oh no. how bad ARE things over there?
Well the Dems helped elect a fascist dictator and they’re now writing poetry and coordinating outfits while our freedoms are eroded. Maybe if we just donated more. Despite holding a strong majority they couldn’t seem to pass anything or get anything done. Obama bailed out companies that left the US anyway. Dems abandoned the middle and working class in favor of a shocking small amount of money. Seriously, that information is widely available and our politicians were CHEAP. When our freedom and well being was on the line they phones in the worst presidential campaign I’ve ever seen from a serious candidate and fumbled so hard it’s difficult to believe it wasn’t intentional. Every year I canvassed for these clowns. I volunteered. And they couldn’t even swing the bat when we needed them. It’s obvious they’re complicit.
Obama and Biden robbed me for the benefit of their donors and now I’m getting told I didn’t campaign for them enough for them. Like I didn’t help flip this area purple and then blue. Apparently we didn’t vote enough to get them to represent my interests at any point over the past 30 years. I’m convinced if I vote for them they’ll just roll over for fascists again. Biden actively let Trump go and let this happen. Trump is a direct result of Dem incompetence or compliance. They’re all on the same team.
wait, barack obama? the ‘hope and change’ guy? single payer healthcare, free education, opened borders and created a new social and technological renaisance? the one who nationalized all the banks after they tried to steal the country out from under us (again)? the barack obama who fixed intellectual property law, and made stewardship of corporations that do shady crap a MUCH more legally perilous proposition? The guy who mandated and funded the effort to take our agriculture off petrofertilizers? the one who ended hunger? the privacy guy, who made it so corporations must pay in kind with the records of their executives and major shareholders (or their executives) as well as monetarily when they violate our privacy, and fixed all that constitutional shit like the fourth amendment being toiled paper? The barack obama who made us the most optimistic generation any historian can find?
THAT obama? damn. what the fuck happened to you people?
…biden? sorry, had to google that. the community organizer and state assemblywoman? or do you mean her half brother, the former AG of delaware? I didn’t know this off the top of my head, I had to look these people up. did he stay in politics in yours? did the obama era funding and regulation push on terminal cancers not work as well for you guys?
… it can’t be the wall street guy. oh god it’s the wall street guy isn’t it? what the fuck did he DO? and why is the ten-minute governor of new york anyone’s ‘fault’? he was just a loud real estate shit head. there was a scandal about demolishing some old rotting buildings that were built like garbage in the first place and he attentionwhored about it. ended up governor for ten minutes. he wasn’t great, but he didn’t, like, DO anything. honestly it was kinda funny, if you didn’t mind laughing at him as much as with him whenever he talked. I mean, he raped all those kids, but he was doing that anywa OH MY GOD DID HE ESCAPE THE BLACK SITE IN SYRIA IN YOUR TIMELINE AND DO THE PLOT OF ‘IRON MAN’ BUT (more) EVIL!?
what the fuck happened over there? who’s looking out for you guys? did president sanders at least get to retire, and not die on the last day of his last term?
As someone who has spoken up numerous times about how “DEMS BAD” is a cop-out, the reason why we ‘waste our time’ focusing on the Dems is because
Let’s figure out a way to separate the base from trump. We have to get through before it’s too late.
is a fucking pipe-dream.
Trump could - and in his last administration, literally did - kill their loved ones and they would thank him for it.
The Trump ‘base’?
They’re monarchists.
If only the king knew about the decrees he’s been writing and signing and haranguing us to obey.
If only the king knew…
A problem here is that the democrats don’t believe that separating Trump from his base is a pipe dream. They seem to believe it’s achievable by simply adopting Republican policy. As someone who’s spent most of their working life around Republicans, this is would be a laughable idea if it wasn’t so embarrassingly naive. There’s already DNC staff, strategists, and future presidential candidates talking about how the problem is they’re just too radically far left and they really need to move right to recapture the middle-right. Hey, maybe this time they’ll convince a whole 0.5% of Republican voters to vote for them instead of 0.3%! I mean, sure, they could motivate their base to show up for something and get way better margins, but then they’d have to make promises and try to keep them, and becoming yesterday’s GOP is just so much easier and appealing to their good billionaires.
There’s a second problem that much of the Dem base is legitimately conservative compared to us.
Moving right is no solution at all - it clearly has no positive results, electoral or practical. But moving left, though a far superior option, is not an automatic fix. Nor an easy one, considering that Dem candidates are chosen by electoral primaries.
I think it’s more that democratic leadership desperately want to adopt more conservative policies and will use any excuse to do so.
Of course, now that I say that, I should clarify that not all dedicated Republicans are dribbling monarchists who have the approximate civic participation and awareness of serfs.
Some, of course, are outright fascists.
Imo, there’s no difference between the ones that go “okay, but I agree under protest” and the ones that urgently push for monarchism. The outcome is the same, the former is just sharing that they lack the conviction to stand for their principles.
My point is more “Some people are legitimately just unimaginative sods who Follow The Leader, but others legitimately want to make society worse, as an ideological aim”
Dems aren’t bad because they do bad things, they’re bad because they’re traitors who sided with a fascist over the American people. Dems would side with Reps over you and I in a heartbeat.
The crazier the republicans get, the
more it’s the dems faultworse the Dems are for not doing anything about itFixed that for you.
But why waste your time focusing on them
Because they’re the only ones with the power to do anything and are supposed to be on our side.
Of course, they’re actually on the side of their owner donors whose interests rarely align with ours.
Let’s figure out a way to separate the base from trump
You clearly have no idea how powerful cult indoctrination is. As evidenced by both this and your reflexive defense of the AWOL Dems.
We have to get through before it’s too late.
There’s nowhere near as much of a chance getting through to his own cult than to the people SUPPOSED to oppose his atrocities for a living.
Conveniently, this absolves you from having to take any responsibility or action about the situation.
Like what, vote? I do that at every opportunity. Protest? I do this as much as my disabilities allow.
Bottom line is that they’re the only people vested with the power to enact and block legislation on behalf of the people who AREN’T declared members of the cult and ARE posturing as the #Resistance without doing anything substantial.
It’s THEIR job and they’re NOT doing it.
You only have two real options: cope or act.
It seems to me history has many more suggestions for action beyond vote and protest. Current organisations are asking for help fundraising, organising, coordinating, messaging, striking. Even protecting the marginalised is an act of compassion and resistance.
Or you cope; it’s your life and country, do what you want while you can.
You only have two real options: cope or act.
That’s just flat out false.
Besides, even if it wasn’t, denying that part of enacting change is petitioning those with more power to do so is asinine. It’s right there in the first fucking amendment for a reason!
I repeat: directly blocking Republican atrocities using powers that ONLY THEY HAVE is THEIR job that they’re NOT doing and that I’m legally NOT allowed to do.
Your reflexive defense of those who have power and attempts to shift the blame to those who don’t is eerily similar to what MAGA cult members do every time someone criticizes Trump.
Tell me, what would a third option be?
Petitioning your representatives is action, until you lose faith in it leading to change, then it’s coping.
Either you find another action you believe could lead to change, or you don’t.
That’s what I’m fucking doing: I’m trying to enact change by explaining to party soldiers such as yourself that the do-nothing Dems in Congress aren’t perfect so that you might stop shielding them from any accountability for their (lack of) actions.
Clearly you’re just as blinded to the faults of your own “team” as the fascists are, though, so I’m gonna stop wasting my time and efforts trying to talk some sense into your addled neoliberal brain.
the democrats have been gradually floating to the right for decades, and rarely put up any sort of fight against the far right bullshit… and when they do, they aren’t in it together as they need to be. they’re unfocused, uncoordinated, and don’t cooperate enough within their own party. so yea, it is at least partly their fault. if they don’t get their fucking shit together, we’re doomed. not just the country. but civilization as we know it.
The Democrats are the opposition. Their job is to oppose. Their opposition must be as forceful as the Republicans’ actions are crazy. Table tennis bat signs are not going to cut it.
Let’s figure out a way to separate the base from trump. We have to get through before it’s too late.
Sounds good, so who should do that first and foremost? The “elected leaders”, right?
And what are they doing? Writiting haikus.
Hence the complaints.People who refused to vote and are now complaining about either the Democrats or about Trump doing what he said he’d do are similar to people who voted for Trump and are now complaining about Trump doing what he said he’d do. Like what did you expect? And thanks for letting me as a trans person get erased from existence, by the way.
And thanks for letting me as a trans person get erased from existence, by the way.
Is this one of those, “As a black man,…” type things. I have no idea about how I’m letting a trans person get erased, let alone you.
I am not part of the LGBT+ community and I’m not an immigrant. That’s the thing though, everyone is going through some shit right now. You’re not alone in that. Unless you’re part of the top 10% in America right now, you’re going through some shit.
I’ve mentioned in previous comments that I’m trans. The regime is specifically targeting trans people by reverting our passports, erasing us from government websites, defying court orders to move trans women to men’s prisons, making it legal to surveil us, etc.
None of this would have happened if Harris was president. I agree that a lot of Democrats fucking suck, but trans people wouldn’t be freaking out trying to figure out how to survive if Harris had won. Everyone is going through shit, but we’re going through more. Republicans’ endgame is to have us either in the closet or dead. They’re probably getting away with disappearing Mahmoud Khalil and if they do they’re probably gonna go for trans organizers at some point.
Biden being president gave us four years to breathe. Harris would have given us another four years. I think the country would have had a complete fascist takeover in the next fifteen or twenty years regardless, but we could have at least given ourselves more time to prepare.
If Harris had won, we would all be in a better place. Even the shithead republicans would be. The only ones winning here right now are the billionaires. What the billionaires haven’t caught onto is, if they don’t bow before trump in every way, they’ll be sent to Guantanamo Bay along with the immigrants and dissidents.
I really don’t want what’s happening to you to be happening. I also don’t want American citizens, soon to be American citizens or immigrants trying to flee a shitty life being treated like they’re being treated. Our civil rights, voting rights, social security, etc., are all being stripped. The people in the lower 70% that aren’t freaking out, don’t know yet. We’re all in trouble here.
Let’s figure out a way to separate the base from trump.
Because it’s either inevitable or impossible, depending on how much they choose to dig in their heels. If reality can’t convince them they made a mistake, you sure as hell won’t. Also, and equally importantly, progressives must unite behind an effective leadership if they expect to get rid of the Trump menace, and the DNC is not effective leadership. Getting progressives and liberals to stop carrying water for them is the first step to bulding real progressive opposition to Trump and hopefully a half-decent government in the aftermath.
no, that’s the thing. we did figure out how to separate the fascist base from trump back in 2016. it was the entire sanders campaign. it turns out when you gave people things they wanted, they used to like it. I know; so fucking weird.
anyway, the dems took that from us, and gave us fucking clinton instead. so fuck them. they took what might’ve been our last chance to stop this without violence. and they still aren’t on our side, even now. never forgive them for that, because they will not improve.
To be clear Bernie was and is able to take away some of Trump’s supporters, that’s true, but not a majority of them. What made Bernie’s campaign (and his entire existence) so effective was his ability to rile up his base and increase progressive turnout.
I’m convinced they axed him just so they could tank this election and give us Trump. They’ve been on his side this whole time.
he got both people who would have been trump supporters AND compromised with the left. seems like that’s a candidate that could have fucking won.
Spoiler alert: Jan. 7th, 2021 was too late.
I think Trump is going to separate the base from himself on his own. Most of them rely on government aid, and he’s trying to kill all of it.
You think MAGA cult members are going to act rationally and change their minds based on what is objectively happening?
He’s played at replacing God. If Obama did 1/10th of the anti-Christian shit Trump’s done, the evangelicals would have been setting themselves on fire in the street. Dude might as well be the actual anti-Christ for how much he’s taken in the evangelicals (remember, the anti-Christ ends up deceiving a bunch of “believers” and actually has wild support). Knowing the MAGAs in my life, there is actually nothing that would change how they feel.
Have the Magas in your life been greatly personally affected by his policies yet?
I can think of a few times, yeah, and they have always done the mental gymnastics to justify it to themselves. One of them got fucked hard by the Trump “tax cuts” and yelled that he wanted Obama back (just about gave the other MAGAs at work a panic attack), but remained an ardent MAGA. It always boils down to something like “Benevolent Dear Leader would stomp on me on purpose. Oh, well, these things will happen, but it’ll be worth it in the long run”.
I think true, diehard MAGA people aren’t as common as it seems. Once they start starving, a majority of them will likely wake up to the fact that at least Musk is the one hurting them (and he’s really the one causing the damage).
They will keep voting red, but I don’t think the loyalty will last when things get hard for them, and they’ll feel it quickly since they’re the demographic that’ll be hit the hardest.
Maybe y’all should have gotten out there and voted Harris instead of being babies, you and us allies wouldn’t be dealing with an orange turd. Keep blaming the democrats , Putin loves it, and it distracts from trump. You wanted Dems to oppose this? Should have given them power. But as an outsider this American election looked like the voters telling democrats to eat shit, then demanding they save you. And yes I’ve heard all the “it’s their fault for not courting my vote” yeah well they’re gonna take 4 years off and stay rich so who did you really punish? Yourselves
You wanted Dems to oppose this? Should have given them power.
When they’re our elected representatives, regardless who is president, and yet they refuse to even touch the power that is bestowed in being an elected representive to… represent…their constituency. How would the result of a presidency change the complacency we are currently witness to? Genuine question, because I dont remember a single repub shutting up over anything during Biden.
Meanwhile Hakeem Jeffries of New York has stayed absolutely silent on one of his constituents who was - without exaggeration (Associated Press) - kidnapped from his home state by ICE agents without a warrant, while holding a valid green card. That is just once example, if we needed the DNCs poster child to hold up our constitutional rights, we were fucked from the very beginning.
When the people who are elected to represent, don’t do the bare minimum in that, of course we should tell them to get the hell out of the way and let someone who gives an actual shit in. You telling to not be critical of the enablers only serves to unleash the offenders, I don’t understand how thats not clear.
You’re misunderstand the frustration. We’ve been seeing Republicans bending the rules and stacking the deck for decades and have been shouting at the top of our lungs that they’re not playing fair. The Democrats didn’t just fail in 2024, they’ve been fucking up since Reagan, and all of us that have been warning this was happening feel like we were betrayed. From where I’m sitting it feels like the Democrats don’t really have any ideals past getting elected. The correct response to Trump 1.0 was throwing the criminal in jail and issuing hundreds of executive orders (a la Trump’s throw out so much shit they can never clean the mess doctrine) to cripple voter suppression and ensuring another quasi dictator didn’t end up in office.
We needed radical leadership and we got the status quo, and frankly if speaks volumes about how disconnected liberal leadership is from their base.
I voted Harris, and even if I hadn’t, I would still have an absolute right to shit on the democrats for perennially being the worst opposition, the worst election strategists, and generally competing with the Russian opposition party for being the most disappointing and ineffectual political entity in existence.
I voted Harris, and even if I hadn’t, I would still have an absolute right to shit on the democrats for perennially being the worst opposition
100%
Legend.
Maybe y’all should have gotten out there and voted Harris instead of being babies, you and us allies wouldn’t be dealing with an orange turd.
No. We’d be dealing with a brown turd, an extension of the silver turd, who watched us all get poorer for four years and didn’t seem to find mitigating it in any meaningful way to be a priority.
You really do have to actually do something if you want people’s votes.
If you want to be taken seriously, be very sure to use the word turd as a pejorative. It’s very convincing in both your arguments…
