As an American I concur. Economic protest on one day? Fuck that, I’m reducing all spending as much as possible every damn day.

Constant sane washing, I think it’s like human nature for people to try and help and improve other peoples faults, even subconsciously, and they help him along in small ways and we all suffer for it. He’s just evil and terrible. Say it, all media. He’s evil and terrible, it’s a fact.

The commissions Booking.com and AirBnB take from the hotels are about 15-20%, fyi.

But I also worry about new areas of weakness with passkeys - anyone accessing the device with the passkey on it, or hacked that device, gets access automatically to the accounts. Also if logins are too fluid I worry that anything out of the ordinary during sign ins won’t be noticed.

I think all of humanity, probably every country, has a “crappy past” but every effort to be better is worthwhile and should be latched on to and bolstered. The “myth” of a better America helped shape decisions for the better, was a guardrail, was a goal being worked towards. The story we tell about ourselves, whatever aspirations we have can become real if we try and keep trying.

You hit the nail on the head. I know good, wholesome people who voted for this evil, awful man and it blows my mind.

Chinese gotta use state-approved and controlled mainstream apps and media, or access foreign stuff via VPN. Homegrown, off the grid stuff like Lemmy only gets by as long as it’s obscure.

If it’s big enough and ornery (includes political content, rather than say just all cooking recipes and form) it’s liable to be blocked.
