Is there a European alternative to Apple FindMy or GoogleMaps location tracking that allows you to share your location with each other?
I would be very grateful for any tips.
Element (Matrix) supports location sharing.

There are plenty selfhosted alternatives, where your location-data can be stored and shared on/from your own hardware, like Hauk: https://github.com/bilde2910/Hauk .
Some things Apple FindMy does was solved by KDE Connect for me. Not sure about a Location Sharing service.

It’s true that you’d have to start a secret chat in order to be end-to-end encrypted and this is a huge design flaw.
