I imagine that google translate stores that data localy then and just matches it like in a dictionary?

I obviously don’t have a replacement for google lens, but I wonder if offline google translate is just literally like a crossreferebcing dictionary. Woulf be a bit annoying to set up oneself I imagine.

It is not your place to ban him or control what he does online, you can however tell him it makes you sad that he watches others. You said as much ypurself and you should probably explain and apologize for the overreach, but explain why. I personally think that watching porn has nothing to do with any partber you may have. It is not a real relationship and possibly even a problem he has, no way to know. What it doesn’t do tho is reflect on you. Finding any other person attractive doesn’t mean he doesn’t find you attractive, there is no correlation.

You should talk it out, without blaming him but explaining that it makes you worried and sad and why, and unless you present it like “he should have known” he will listen if he cares about you. This is not a he problem or a you problem it is a plural you problem (god this sounds better in languages with more exact wording…)

My 4GBs agree. I literally cannot use discord. It takes ridiculous amounts of resource because you are meant to goddamn live in it, not just chat.

I have not yet :) Currently using Fedora XFCE, my first distro (tried Mint as well but wasn’t for me) as most others failed to install on my mac and Fedora workstation was too slow on the old thing.

XFCE is however really good for keyboard navigation, never have to touch my mouse. My biggest issue with GNOME coming from MacOS was that keyboard navigation in the GUI was very inconsistent. The part that I always liked with MacOS was overall design philosophy enforced everywhere. Still, for many Mac users GNOME is probably still preferable because it is so incredibly readable, just works and looks good.

You can with LibreTranslate. I have not done so myself but explored the option once. Worth checking out.

It is absolutely superior. I have family working in translation and as interpreters, they long ago converted me to using DeepL instead of google translate.

DeepL is worse at individual words out of context, amazing for a sentence or full text.

So as someone who recently went from MacOS to Linux (at least partially) Mint is terrible for macOS users. It is like going back to windows. I get it is the easiest for Windows users but maybe add a row for Macos to Fedora or something (but maybe it is too complicated, I just know most mac users would scoff at Mint’s interface).

A rep for the Centerparti literally used this argument on the news today, they are very against it. It is just a proposal at the moment, even the military passovely criticized it as they use Signal for communication.

Hopefully that’s enough for it not to pass but you never know. If it passes that’s a new low.
