  • For Palestine specifically, Khalidi’s The hundred years war on Palestine goes over the period of transition from the ottoman empire, to zionist colonization. It goes in-depth into peaceful relations between religious communities for hundreds of years before zionism.

As for the middle ages through the ottoman empire, you can glance over these wiki sections, but its fairly universally accepted that Islamic states were in general refuges and safe-havens for jewish peoples who had to flee christian persecution, or those who already lived in the regions.

  • but let’s not pretend the Palestinians wouldn’t be doing the same given the upper hand.

They lived in peace for hundreds of years before the zionist settler-colonial project. So there’s no evidence that the victims of Zionism can be equated with their oppressors, just because “all religion bad”.

Muslim countries historically have been far kinder to their religious minorities than any european one also.

  • Contrary to popular belief, the average American does not live day to day in fear that they are about to get fucked by the state for no reason at all, and that’s even acknowledging the measures the state goes to criminalize and punish the most desperate in us society.

We don’t fear state repression and death for the wrong opinion, looking a certain way.

US cops kill ~1000 people every year, imprisons thousands of innocent people in its war on drugs and enslaves them in prison camps, keeps ~40k immigrants in prison camps (about 7k of them are children), and holds many political prisoners. The US even executed an innocent man just a few months ago.

Oh, and just like 2 years ago facebook handed over chat messages of a woman helping her daughter get an abortion to local cops. She’s in prison now.

And these are only recent things, the US is an entire country built upon the graves of indigenous peoples: something nazi germany aspired and failed to do in eastern europe.

  • Washington was the richest man in the US at the time, and had the most to gain from indigenous eviction. The Iroquios named him “the town destroyer”, for burning down dozens of their cities. He also owned slaves and supported the institution just like most presidents after him (I think 10 presidents in a row were southern slave-holders like himself).

And also, its the US, not China, that has slave labor camps. Just because an anti-semitic evangelical christian (adrian zenz) who works for the US government claims that China has forced labor, doesn’t make it so. These claims have been debunked over and over.
