In another article from before the elections, they were saying that the separatist movement had been gaining traction for many years and their current discourse was that they wanted Greenlanders in charge for discussions with whichever remote nation that wanted to control them. ( Denmark or USA)
I agree wth you that they would seem more fragile…
I learned also that Greenland is an outside member of the EU, they decided to “downgrade” to that status in 1985 to have more control over the fisheries and territorial waters.
With the strong US presence already with an air base and a port, I really wonder how an annexation would play out. What is Denmark, and by extension the EU, ready to do?
