What’s to stop a company from standing up their own instance?

If they only create an admin account and then federate to every instance, now they have everyone’s content.

I’m suddenly realizing the anti-AI blurbs people add to their comments now make sense.

Imagine a capital juggernaut like Amazon invested in truly renewable energy instead of just trying to be power hungry assholes trying to race Google to the AI market.

The amount of technology that they could create simply from these investments could change the course of our planet. But, no. Line must go up next quarter. Not 2 years from now.

In terms of politics, “the freedom to choose” not to vaccinate.

The “saner” arguments of the anti-vax movement is parents and individuals should have the right to not vaccinate.

But bare in mind that these arguments are rooted in the same conservative arguments: rules apply to YOU. They don’t apply to ME. I am a Christian and therefore know what’s best. The law exists to protect me from YOU and allow ME to punish YOU.

Bottom line is that this isn’t about vaccinations as much as it is about allowing conservatives to ignore government regulations that have been oPpReSsInG tHeM.

The Democrats seem to think misogyny played a part, yes, but I’m not convinced that this was the case. It’s an easy excuse. But it glosses over a problem that Democrats have not been willing to face for almost 20+ years.

They are convinced that if they become the center, they’ll win the majority.

The Harris campaign ran the same play as the Clinton campaign: I’m not Trump.

The only case of misogyny that I can see is that Biden ran the same campaign. But the problem with this argument is that we were in a Trump presidency. The effects of it were clear to voters. If you carry over this logic to Biden, Harris lost not because she was a woman but the effects of the Biden presidency was clear to voters.

Harris had the opportunity to come out as progressive. To go further than Biden. To guarantee colleges loan forgiveness for everyone. To come out against healthcare companies. To come out against the alt right.

But she didn’t.

She played the same plays as Hilary: I’m not Trump. I’ll save democracy. Israel is cool.

The sad thing is she could be leading the charge right now to help organize people against fascism. If she really learned any lessons from her campaign, she’d be with Bernie and doing tours to help people protest.

The DNC would rather eat crumbs that fall off the table than risk biting the hands that feed it (corporations). They have lost legitimacy in my book and will only support them as opposition to the fascists because there isn’t another option. If a true progressive party gains momentum, you can bet that the DNC and GOP will work together to push progressives out.

In other words: Republicans will consistently vote for anyone with an R. Democrats need to be convinced to vote for their candidate.

This is why a general strike won’t work. There are just too many people trying to go big when you need to go local.

I can’t get people at my company to even discuss a union let alone a strike. This type of action only works when people feel that they have solidarity behind them. If you’re the only one in your company striking, you’re getting fired, regardless of how illegal it is. Even if you have 3% of the population with you, you’ve singled yourself out.

You just can’t do this kind of stuff virtually. It needs to be highly localized and highly visible.

I’m pouring my resources into local acts of resistance. You want to make an impact? Talk to your local food bank or homeless shelter. Want to do more? Call a probono law firm or immigration attorney and volunteer.

They believed they were the exceptions. Because they got theirs. It’s all those other illegals that are bad.

Iirc the only reason we went with lethal injection was because politicians couldn’t stomach the gore of a firing squad. And the PTSD of this firing the guns.

Grocery stores are following suit by spreading signs about bird flu and increasing their prices as well.

This is not the way. You take these addresses and report them in states with anti-abortion trafficking laws.

That’s the harmless fun part. There are more meaningful ways to use this list but the rules of this instance prevent me from sharing them.

It’s not enough for conservatives to win. They want to rub your face in it. Make you bend the knee and kiss the ring.

This is about flexing power and influence and not about politicking.

And their base absolutely eats it up.
